CARBONDALE, Ill. — A new poll is showing a deep divide among Illinoisans regarding the job performance of Governor Bruce Rauner.

The poll, released Thursday by the Southern Illinois University-based Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, indicates exactly half of one-thousand registered voters polled disapprove of Rauner’s performance, while just 41-percent approve, with the rest undecided.

Rauner’s worst ratings are from Chicago voters, where 58-percent disapprove. The poll also found 84-percent of Illinois voters say the state is on the “wrong track,” according to a press release.
