WASHINGTON, D.C. — Attorneys for imprisoned former governor Rod Blagojevich told a federal court Tuesday that the U.S. Supreme Court should review his case now, even though he’s still waiting to be resentenced for his corruption conviction.

Blagojevich has served four years of a 14-year sentence, but an appeals court threw out five of the 18-counts against him and ordered a new sentence.

The Chicago “Sun-Times” reports that Blagojevich argues that because there’s a good chance other counts would also be thrown out by the Supreme Court, a hearing shouldn’t wait until after the new sentence is decided in July.
