MARION COUNTY — A 67-year-old Centralia man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Marion County Court to an amended charge of felony production of between 5 and 20 cannabis plants in exchange for a Class 1 felony charge being dismissed.

Jerry Kapes was arrested and charged in October with manufacture with the intent to distribute between 2,000 and 5,000 grams of cannabis after Centralia police say they found over 10 pounds of cannabis hanging up to dry in the garage of Kapes’ Shook Lane residence.

He was sentenced Tuesday to 2-years probation and ordered to complete drug and alcohol treatment, as well as pay court costs. While he was ordered to abstain from drugs and alcohol with testing, he is allowed to consume alcohol as part of his business.
