CARBONDALE — Carbondale police are investigating another shooting incident, this one happened around Tuesday night around 7 p.m. and left a 19-year-old man from Florrisant, Mo., with a gunshot wound to his lower back, while law enforcement searches for the 21-year-old suspected shooter.

According to the Carbondale Police Department, they’re searching for Daniel Holmes of Carbondale as the person suspected of shooting his acquaintance while they were visiting someone at a Carbondale apartment complex.

Police say Holmes and the victim were having a dispute when the shot was fired and now an arrest warrant has been issued for Holmes for alleged aggravated battery with a firearm.

His location at this time is unknown and he should be considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with any information on the location of Holmes or this incident, is encouraged to contact the Carbondale Police Department at 618-457-3200.

The SIU Police Department and the Jackson County State’s Attorney Office are assisting in this investigation, which is continuing.
