PERRY COUNTY — Bail has been set at $500,000 for a 29-year-old Du Quoin man who has been charged in Perry County Court with sexually assaulting a 7-year-old.

Andy S. Kirkpatrick is charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under the age of 13.
Du Quoin Police were called to Marshall Browning Hospital around 7:20 p.m. Sunday to investigate the reported assault of a 7-year-old girl which had occurred earlier that evening.
The investigation led officers to Kirkpatrick who was found on East South Street in Du Quoin and taken into custody.
A preliminary hearing is set for June 29. Predatory criminal sexual assault of a child is a class X felony and carries a penalty of 6 to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
