MURPHYSBORO — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office investigating the death of a 51-year-old Murphysboro man found Friday inside the burned out remains of a house.

According to the sheriff’s office, Joshua Randall Penrod was found in a home in the 800 block of West Industrial Park Road in Murphysboro. He was the only person inside the home.

A 9-1-1 call was received around 12:30 p.m. Friday about the structure fire. An autopsy on Penrod is scheduled
