CENTRALIA — A 29-year-old Salem man was arrested Tuesday after he reportedly crashed his vehicle into a house in the 900 block of McKee Street in Centralia.

According to Centralia police, firefighters and EMS initially responded to the 900 block of McKee Street on a report of a suspected drug overdose.

Once on scene, however, they discovered a car crashed into a house. Cody A. Thompson was reportedly the driver of that car. He was initially taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia before being transported to the Marion County Jail, where he’ll await the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.

He was arrested for alleged driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a controlled substance, possession of hypodermic syringes and driving while license revoked.

Thompson’s license was revoked due to a 2009 conviction in Marion County for DUI drugs. It’s unclear at this time the extent of damage to the home. Thompson was alone in the vehicle, which was towed from the scene.
