MOUNT VERNON — The Mt Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department High Risk Team served two search warrants Friday morning at residences in Mt Vernon.

Both warrants were issued in connection with ongoing weapons and burglary investigations in Mt Vernon. The two residences were 621 South 18th Street and 729 South 18th Street.

As a result of the search warrants a 17-year-old male was taken into custody and firearms were seized, two of which had been stolen.

The 17-year-old male has been charged with Armed Violence, Residential Burglary, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and No Valid FOID Card. The juvenile will be held in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Facility pending a court date in Jefferson County.

The police department is actively seeking to locate another suspect, 24-year-old Lyle Bulliner, in connection with these investigations.
