Jana Gay (Chapman) Arning

CENTRALIA — Jana Gay (Chapman) Arning, 58, of Centralia passed away July 2, 2016 at Fireside Nursing Home in Centralia.

Obituary Picture Jana ArningJana was born on June 28, 1958 in Centralia, the daughter of Cecil Chapman and Joyce (Nichols) Beasley. She married Earl Norman Arning on November 7, 1981 in Hoyleton, at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Hoyleton and he survives her in Centralia.

In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by two daughters, Melissa Leuthardt of St. Louis, Mo., and Jenny Arning of Centralia; two grandchildren, Ellie Leuthardt and Hunter Leuthardt of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Bert Chapman and wife Gay of Centralia, and Scott Chapman and wife Barbara of Centralia; one sister, Nena Seats of Dahlgren, Ill.; step-father, Jim Beasley and wife Joyce of Centralia; two step-sisters, Debbie Beasley-Jones of Florida, and Sarah Knaak of Kell; mother and father-in-law, Norman and wife Margaret Arning of Centralia.

 

Jana was preceded in death by her father; an infant daughter, Stephanie Arning and one sister Lesa Chapman.

Jana was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia. Jana graduated from Centralia High School in 1976. She worked at Warren G. Murray Center for 12 years after she graduated high school. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for 20 years. Jana enjoyed crocheting. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral Services for Jana Arning will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Mark Girardin officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at the funeral home and also from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Hoyleton.

Memorial donations may be made to Centralia Humane Society and Trinity Lutheran Preschool in Centralia and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia which is assisting the family with arrangements.
