CARBONDALE — According to the Carbondale police, an early morning home invasion resulted in the homeowner being shot and injured by one of two suspects.

Officers responded around 4:25 a.m. Saturday to a call about a home invasion in the 200 block of West Cherry Street, where it was reported the homeowner and his girlfriend woke up to find a suspect in their bedroom.

A second suspect appeared and demanded money, which is when one of the suspects shot the victim followed by both of them fleeing the residence. The victims and the suspects were not acquainted.

The victim received a a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was treated and released from Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. During the course of the investigation, the two suspects were located and taken into custody.

The first suspect has been identified as 19 year old Willie Williams and the second suspect is a juvenile male. They have been charged with Home Invasion, Aggravated Armed Robbery, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, and Residential Burglary. Williams was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.

The juvenile was transported to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
