JACKSON COUNTY — Two Mounds, Illinois men are in the Jackson County Jail, after they were arrested over the weekend for allegedly possessing pounds of cannabis at the Amtrak Train Station in Carbondale.

According to the Carbondale Police Department, 27-year-old Jerrell T. Stockstill, and 22-year-old Jamode D. Stockstill, were arrested Sunday afternoon following a drug investigation at the train station.

During the course of the investigation, officers reportedly learned two individuals were attempting to transport cannabis into Carbondale via the Amtrak train.

Officers then located the Stockstills with allegedly more than 5-pounds of cannabis in their possession. They were taken in to custody and transported to the Jackson County Jail.

They were both formally charged in court this morning with two counts Class 2 felony manufacture with the intent to deliver between 2,000 and 5,000 grams of cannabis.

Jerrell Stockstill was in Marion County Court last week, where he’s charged with felony aggravated fleeing police at speeds exceeding 21 mph over the speed limit. He is also facing a probation revocation in Jefferson County, where he was convicted in 2013 of felony manufacture with the intent to deliver between 500 and 2,000 grams of cannabis.
