SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Starting next week, people filing for jobless benefits in Illinois will have to post a resume to the state’s job search website before they can receive benefits.

The Department of Employment Security is stepping up enforcement of existing rules that require claimants to prove that they’ve been actively seeking work.

As of now, about 60-percent of jobless claims don’t include a completed registration for the state’s job-finding services. The state’s job search engine, IllinoisJobsLink, currently lists about one-hundred-80-thousand job openings.
