Amtrak bomb-sniffing dog located day after it went missing

ALSIP, Ill. (AP) — A dog used to sniff out bombs for the Amtrak Police Department that went missing this weekend has been found.

The Amtrak Police Department says “Hako” was found on Sunday, a day after it went missing from its handler’s home in the Chicago suburb of Alsip.

Police in neighboring Crestwood announced that the dog had been found but neither the department nor Amtrak had any details.

The brown sable German shepherd belongs to the Transportation Security Administration and is assigned to Amtrak’s police department.
