MONTGOMERY COUNTY — A 59-year-old Mulberry Grove man was killed Sunday in a motorcycle accident in Montgomery County, and law enforcement is looking for information about a tow truck that may have been involved.

According to the sheriff’s office, Ricky L. Wyant was riding next to another motorcycle, driven by 36-year-old Dustin Wyant, of Filmore, when around 6:15 p.m. they approached a tow truck pulling a vehicle east of Van Burensburg on Burg Road, just north of Illinois 185.

According to witness statements, the tow truck crossed the center line, which caused Ricky and Dustin to lay down their motorcycles to avoid a collision.

Ricky Wyant was pronounced dead at the scene. Dustin was treated at the scene and released. A passenger on his bike, 32-year-old Shalet Wyant, of Filmore, was taken to Hillsboro Area Hospital.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about the tow truck, which did not stop at the time of the accident.

It is described as a black roll-back tow truck with orange-and-yellow writing that was pulling a vehicle.
