Orville “Hop” Howard Clark

flag-clip-art-american-flag-wave-metalCENTRALIA — Orville “Hop” Howard Clark, 78 of Centralia, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his home.

He was born May 6, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, son of Robert Clark and Goldie (Croger) Clark. He grew up with his four siblings and attended Odin High School. In 1956, he joined the United States Air Force and served in Greenland and Guam.

He is survived by his daughters, (Retired) USAF Technical Sergeant Cheri Mason of Abilene, Texas, Mikki Clark of Centralia, and Spanki Clark of Wickenburg, Az.; his sons, USAF Senoir Master Sergeant Wesley (Skip) Clark of Bossier City, La., Mike Clark and Josh Clark both of Centralia; his sister, Joyce Clark and brother Leray Clark; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kassandra June Clark; sister, Imogene Rippy; and his brother, James Clark.

Hop enjoyed watching football and baseball with his son, Mike. He was an avid Pittsburg Pirates and Pittsburg Steelers fan. He passed away peacefully in his home following a short illness, he did it his way. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Per Hop’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Centralia with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the gravesite by the American Legion Post 446 and V.F.W. Post 2055.

Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia which is assisting the Clark Family with arrangements.
