WASHINGTON COUNTY — A 31-year-old St. Louis man has been charged in connection with the traffic deaths Friday morning of two Mt. Vernon women.

Zacchaes Williams was flown to a regional hospital Friday morning with serious injuries, with accident reports showing he was not wearing his seat belt in the 1993 Cadillac he was driving on Interstate 64 in Washington County

Two backseat passengers in the vehicle, 20-year-old Chelsea Dunn and 19-year-old Wilyssa Moore, both of Mt. Vernon, were pronounced dead at the scene. ISP says the women were extricated from the vehicle by the Nashville Fire Department.

Another passenger in the vehicle, 30-year-old Jessica McSwain, was taken to a local hospital and was considered in “good” condition. McSwain was wearing a seat belt, according to police.

According to preliminary information gathered by State Police, Williams was eastbound in the left lane of Interstate 64. At mile marker 54 in Washington County, the vehicle went off the right side of the road and hit a tree.
