VIENNA, Ill. — A Southern Illinois prison remains on full lockdown, after a fight reportedly broke out Saturday between multiple inmates and resulted in two staff members being hospitalized.

According to the Illinois Department of Corrections, the incident took place in the dining hall of the Shawnee Correctional Center in Vienna Saturday. Several staff members were reportedly treated for minor injuries received while trying to break up the fight.

This was apparently one of two fights between inmates Saturday, one of which ended with three guards being sent to the hospital.
