MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set at $10,000 for 21-year-old Centralia man charged this morning in connection with an early Sunday morning crash that reportedly occurred while he was fleeing from Centralia police.

Jordan White was formally charged Monday in Marion County Court with Class 4 felony aggravated fleeing police resulting in less than $300 property damage, misdemeanor driving under the influence, and was cited for reckless driving, and disregarding a traffic control device

According to police, around 1:30 Sunday morning, White fled down Poplar Street from an attempted stop, ran a traffic light at 2nd Street, and when he attempted to turn east onto 3rd Street he struck a power pole.

The impact moved the pole about six inches and destroyed the front end of the car he was driving.

White had reportedly taken the car owned by Marcus Miller of Broadway in Centralia without permission after the keys were left in the vehicle.  However, Miller, who was friends with White, elected not to pursue charges.
