Mary Olive Briesacher

CENTRALIA — Mary Olive Briesacher, 87, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Fireside House.

picture-pubShe was born July 1, 1929, the daughter of Reuben S. and Goldie Mae (Richardson) Johnson. She married Robert L. Briesacher on December 5, 1950 at Antioch Church in Centralia. They celebrated 65 beautiful years together.

Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” L. Briesacher of Centralia; son Jeffrey L. Briesacher and wife Debi of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; daughter Denise L. (Briesacher) Muenz and husband Russ of Florissant, Mo.; four grandchildren Chrissie Cordray, Stephanie Bremer, Miranda Muenz, and Lily Muenz; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Goldie (Richardson) Johnson; sisters Aleine (Johnson) Perry, Juanita “Neta” (Johnson) Ott; and brother Glen Johnson.

Mary lived in Centralia most of her life. She was a 1946 Salem High School graduate. She was a secretary at the Salem Courthouse, Westside Motor Company, Frances Job Printery, and was a private sitter for eight years until retiring in 1995. Mary was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Antioch Church, and the First United Methodist Church of Centralia. She was an active member by holding various offices, taught Sunday School, was a member of the women’s group, sang in the choir, and was a UMYF sponsor. She was also in the Raccoon Ramblers camping club for 20 years, was a PTA member, 4-H sponsor, and was in a “washboard band.” She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Services for Mary will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Rev. Anita Munder officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m — 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Centralia or the Alzheimer’s Association.
