FAYETTE COUNTY — A 45-year-old Mulberry Grove woman is in the Fayette County Jail, facing multiple charges stemming from an alleged hit-and-run incident Thursday night in Vandalia.

According to Vandalia Police, officers responded just before 9 o’clock Thursday night to Illinois Route 185, just north of the Fast Stop to a report of a hit and run crash between two vehicles.

Accident reports say that 52-year-old Lisa J. Robbins of Vandalia was driving behind a vehicle driven by Hazel D. Perkins of Mulberry Grove, when Perkins allegedly stopped in the roadway, put her vehicle in reverse and ran into the victim’s vehicle.

Bond County Sheriff’s deputies later located and arrested Perkins at her home. She was arrested for alleged Obstructing a Peace Officer, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with vehicle damage, Failure to Report an Accident, Failure to Give Information, Improper Backing, and Failure to Report an address change to the Secretary of State.

Perkins remains in the Fayette County Jail awaiting the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
