Brian “Potsie” Potts

st. louis cardinal3WALNUT HILL — Brian “Potsie” Potts, 50, of Walnut Hill, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at his home.

He was born January 23, 1966 in Joliet, son of Kenneth Lee Potts and Pauletta (Cross) Potts Hamburg.

In addition to his mother, Pauletta Hamburg and husband Bill of Centralia; he is also survived a brother, Jeff Hamburg of Centralia; a nephew, Hunter Hamburg of Centralia; an aunt, Mary “Momma B” Benzschawel of Centralia; obituary picture for Brian Potsie Pottsan uncle, Orus Cecil Cross of Reddick; many special cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Potts, beloved pet wolf: Sierra, two uncles: Kenneth Benzschawel and Otis Cross, Jr., an aunt: Bonnie Cross, grandmother: Nora Cross Arnold, grandfather: Revered Otis H. Cross, Sr., sister-in-law: Debbie Hamburg.

Potise was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan and Centralia Orphans Basketball Fan. He collected Bandanas for Cancer patients having over 1000 to be delivered to St. Judes Children’s Research. Postie’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends.

Per Potsie’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2016, at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family and additional bandanas would be appreciated in Postie’s memory so that his wishes can be carried out by his family.
