MARION COUNTY — Two Salem residents posted bond and were released Friday after they were arrested for alleged inhumane treatment of animals.

According to Salem police, 43-year-old Kurtis Teitsort and 44-year-old Linda Teitsort were arrested after their dog was reportedly found running around town with matted fur and an infestation of maggots.

They were taken to the Marion County Jail where they each posted $150 bond and were released.

Linda Teitsort pleaded guilty in 2013 to ordinance violations of allowing a vicious dog to run and failure to have the dog vaccinated for rabies as is required. She paid fines on both violations.
