CENTRALIA — Virginia A. “Ginger” Nelson, 82, of Centralia, formerly of Patoka died on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at her home. She was born November 4, 1933 in Florence, Arizona, daughter of WW Marshall and Thedous Mc Donald. She married John Nelson on August 16, 1963. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Johnnie Nelson and wife Karen of Waltonville, Ill., Frankie Nelson of Centralia, and Warren Nelson of Idaho; daughters, Marilyn Reed of Marion, Va., Debbie Jo of Idaho, and Johanna Murphy and husband Tom Sr. of Centralia; sisters, Zora Glover and husband Bob of Idaho, and Starla Sarin and husband Bobby Joe of Arizona; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Nelson; brother; Sonny Barnes; children, Marla Jo Bierman, and Linda Allen; daughter-in-law Theresa Nelson; and son-in-law, Roger Panek
She was member of the Moose. She was also lifetime member at the V.F.W. and American Legion. She enjoyed playing Bingo and collecting pigs. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was former member United Methodist Church of Patoka.
Per Ginger’s wishes, she will be cremated. Private services will be held at later date. Memorials may be made to Pratt Cemetery.
