JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County Crimestoppers is asking the public for help identifying two men involved in the battery of a female resident outside her driveway Friday.

According to reports, around 12:59 p.m. Friday, the Mt. Vernon Police Department received a report of a battery on the 1100 block of South 25th Street.

A female resident was outside her driveway next to her truck with the door open. She observed two black males walking east on Jones.

One of the males was wearing a long white shirt, jeans and had short hair. The other male was wearing shorts with no shirt and short hair.

While she was standing by her vehicle, the males attacked her and ran east on Jones.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Mt. Vernon Police at 242-0215, 242-2131 or the Jefferson County Crime Stoppers at 242-8477(TIPS) and you never have to give your name.

Any information that leads to the arrest may make the caller eligible for a cash reward.
