Marion County Drops Charges On Four Arrested Over The Weekend

(SALEM, IL) — Four people arrested by Centralia Police on Saturday will not be charged in three separate incidents. The Marion County State’s Attorney’s Office will not pursue charges against 50-year-old Lavita Thomas of Centralia. Thomas was released after having been arrested on allegations of aggravated battery. Thomas reportedly sprayed Amanda Latham of Centralia with pepper spray. 64-year-old Ernie Whipple of Salem was arrested for disorderly conduct and improper walking on the roadway after allegedly walking in the underpass beneath Noleman Street in Centralia. Drug related charges will not be brought upon 57-year-old Bruce Reynolds of Irvington or 31-year-old Johnathan Hiltibidal of Centralia.  Reynolds was being held for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Several baggies with methamphetamine residue and syringes were allegedly found on the floor board of a vehicle driven by Reynolds. Hiltibidal, a passenger in the vehicle, was being held for possession of drug paraphernalia after a pipe used for drugs had allegedly been found nearby.
