Strike Action Approved, But No Strike Just Yet In Champaign

(Champaign, IL)  —  The Champaign School District teachers’ union is voting to approve a strike. The vote, taken yesterday, doesn’t guarantee a strike will happen, as the union continues to pursue a new contract. The “Champaign News-Gazette” reports the earliest a strike could happen is mid to late-October. A tentative contract agreement was reached yesterday between the school district and the Champaign Educational Support Professionals union.
