(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — The West Frankfort School District 168 will commemorate the 15th Anniversary of the 9-11 attacks on Friday. Eighteen hundred students from throughout the West Frankfort community will converge on Max Morris Gymnasium to honor the ultimate sacrifice made by so many on that tragic day. In addition to the remembrance ceremony, we will also honor members of the Illinois State Police, local police, fire fighters, first responders, and military veterans with a breakfast and special program recognition. West Frankfort students will sing, play instruments, read poems, and honor the sacrifices made to ensure the freedoms of all Americans. At 8:30 a.m., breakfast for all law enforcement and first responders will be provided in the FCHS Cafeteria and at 9:00 a.m., the 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony will be held in Max Morris Gymnasium on the campus of Frankfort Community High School.
