MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set at $25,000 for a 51-year-old Centralia man arrested for threatening a public official following a police chase Sunday night.

Around 8:30 Sunday night, a Central City police officer noticed Shawn Reichenbach riding a motorcycle. The officer attempted a traffic stop, with Reichenbach ultimately fleeing south on Locust Street from McCord Street.

Reichenbach was eventually stopped near the public aid office on South Locust Street. In addition to being charged with Class 3 felony threatening of a public official and misdemeanor resisting a peace officer, he was charged with a handful of traffic citations that included fleeing and eluding, speeding, and driving while license revoked.

A first appearance with court appointed counsel was scheduled for October 11.
