MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set at $10,000 for a Salem woman arrested Monday by Centralia police responding to a fight between two women in the street.

According to police, upon their arrival in the 100 block of South Oak Street they found 20-year-old Jordan Manion attempting to hit a male who entered a nearby restaurant.

Officers initially arrested Manion for providing them with a false name, but the charges escalated when she reportedly became combative with the officers as they were placing her in custody.

Once in the back of the squad car, Manion reportedly began kicking the back of the front seat, and managed to get her feet out of the car when the door was opened.

Charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting a peace officer, disorderly conduct and illegal consumption of liquor by a minor followed as Manion fought police trying to take her into custody.

She was ultimately pepper sprayed when she allegedly kicked one of the officers as they were attempting to move her into the back of a Central City squad car for transport to the Marion County Jail, where she is alleged to have then kicked a corrections officer.

Manion was formally charged Tuesday in Marion County Court with Class 2 felony aggravated battery of a peace officer and misdemeanor consumption of liquor by a minor.
