New Tax Study Ranks Illinois In Middle Of Pack

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois’ high property taxes put the state in the middle of the pack in a new tax study.

The Tax Foundation ranks Illinois 23rd in its latest report. That’s better than Wisconsin and Iowa, but far worse than Missouri and Indiana.

The Tax Foundation study gives Illinois credit for a lower personal income tax rate, but ranks the state near the bottom when it comes to property tax rates.
