Police investigating armed robbery of Farina bank

FAYETTE COUNTY — The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office confirms the Midland States Bank in Farina was robbed this morning and authorities with Fayette and Marion county sheriff’s offices, along with ISP and Flora PD, are searching for an armed suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s with long black hair, approximately 5-feet 6-inches tall, and weighing approximately 200 pounds. He is reported as wearing a plaid shirt, red plaid jacket, blue jeans and a green baseball cap.

He reportedly entered the bank around 9:34 a.m. Friday and displayed a weapon and demanded money before leaving the bank on foot. He was last seen headed north on Walnut Street.
