STERLING, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say a young person has died after being struck by a train in northern Illinois.
Police in Sterling say the teenager was struck Sunday while on the tracks about 500 feet west of a Union Pacific railroad crossing.
Police say he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name and age weren’t immediately released by police.
