MARION COUNTY — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Monday travel restrictions on Kinoka Road between Farthing Road and Seven Hills Road, just east of Patoka.

On Monday, October 24th Kinoka Road will be closed at 8 a.m. to thru traffic from Farthing Road to Seven Hills Road, weather permitting. Kinoka Road will remain closed until 8 a.m. Monday, October 31st.

Motorists should find alternate routes such as Interstate 70 to Interstate 57 or US 50 to I-57 to circumvent the closure. The closure is needed to replace a cross-road culvert on Kinoka Road.

This work will be completed by Illinois Department of Transportation maintenance crews. Traffic control devices including variable message signing will be utilized to assist motorists during these restrictions.

The Department asks that motorists be patient, reduce speed, obey all warning signs, and use additional caution when traveling near this work zone. Additional information is also available at stl-traffic.org/.
