EFFINGHAM COUNTY — A 57-year-old Flora man was seriously injured Friday morning when his car struck a deer on U.S. 45 near Watson.
According to the Effingham Sheriff’s Office, James L. Crespo was northbound on U.S. 45 just north of 800th Avenue, when around 1:20 a.m. his 2007 Chevy Cobalt struck a deer, went through a large ditch, and came to rest in a field. Crespo was taken to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
