According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Jason Michael Stoker was apprehended late Tuesday afternoon in the St. Louis area, where he will remain pending extradition proceedings.

Officials say that at approximately 10 p.m., Friday,  Chester Police Officer James Brockmeyer attempted to pull over a 2006 Red Pontiac G6 being driven by Stoker. Stoker allegedly failed to pull over for Brockmeyer and a pursuit ensued.

During the pursuit, Brockmeyer’s patrol car left the roadway and overturned just south of Union School Road in Randolph County.

He became trapped in the wreckage as a result of the crash.

Authorities had previously reported that a deputy spotted Stoker’s care in Evansville, Illinois.

An arrest warrant was issued for Stoker last week on a charge of aggravated fleeing and eluding. His bail was set at $250,000. Prosecutors say additional and “more robust charges” are anticipated.

At the time of the pursuit and crash, Stoker was already facing a bench trial in December stemming from a battery charge from an August incident.
