MARION COUNTY — A 26-year-old Centralia man is in the Marion County Jail after he was arrested Wednesday for alleged residential burglary.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found Taylor Jackin walking in the 2400 block of County Farm Road and carrying luggage.

A woman in that area reported that she had come home and found a male matching Jacklin’s description near her garage. Reports say Jacklin had no connection to the residence or its occupants and was told to leave.

Deputies checked the area and items identified as belonging to the resident were located on Jacklin, along with ammunition and cannabis.

He was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail, where he is now formally charged with Class 1 felony residential burglary, and misdemeanor theft. Jacklin was also issued an ordinance violation for possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis.

Probable cause was found in court to detain Jacklin and his bail has been set at $25,000. He’s next scheduled to appear in court November 10 for a first appearance with counsel. Jacklin reports he is homeless, but indicated he would hire a private attorney.

Jacklin pleaded guilty in Clinton County in 2010 to felony residential burglary and was sentenced to 5-years probation along with 98 days in jail. He was subsequently sentenced to an additional 30 days and then 60 days after twice being found guilty of probation violations.
