JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County Circuit Clerk Randy Pollard has announced improvements made in the collection of delinquent fines and fees owed to Jefferson County.

In coordination with Resident Circuit Judge Jo Beth Weber and State’s Attorney Douglas Hoffman, the Circuit Clerk’s Office recently contracted with a new collection agency to tackle the issue of collecting unpaid fines and fees owed to the taxpayers of this county.

Pollard recently teamed up with the Illinois-based firm Credit Collection Partners and implemented new policies in his office to improve the collection process.

In five months, the third-party firm has collected over $37,000 in delinquent fines and fees owed to Jefferson County. The service is carried out at zero additional cost to the court system and taxpayers. The county previously contracted with another firm to aid in the collection process.
