jane-west-alton-doe-mo-2ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. — On February 1, 1968, the body of a female child was found in a suitcase anchored by weights in the river area of West Alton, Mo., near the Clark Bridge.

She was believed to be between two and four years of age.  Her death was ruled a homicide. There were no significant advances in the case for four decades.

On September 24, 2015, the child, commonly referred to as Jane Doe West Alton, was exhumed by the SCCPD Bureau of Criminal Investigation, with assistance from the FBI emergency response team and local forensic anthropologists, for additional forensic analysis.

Investigators utilized the newest and best technology to make advances in the case; however, the child still does not have her name or the justice she deserves.
