Fannie M. Brown

CENTRALIA — Fannie M. Brown, 94, of Centralia passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at Fireside House in Centralia surrounded by family.

picture-pubShe was born the daughter of Junius and Louilzer (Sain) Jones, on September 12, 1922 in Bolivar, TN. She later married Earl H. Brown on August 12, 1950 and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include children, Dexter L. Young of California, Paul E. Young, Sr. of Centralia, Warren G. Jones, Sr. and wife Veronica L. of Mt. Vernon, and Veronica Dixon of Centralia; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Claire Mundy and Rev. John Powell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Junius and Louilzer; step-parents, Dexter and Mary L. Jones; husband, Earl; sisters, Louella Meredith, Earl Eva Jones, Agnes Jones, and Joyce Meredith; brothers, Jack Jones, Joe Jones, Cecil Jones, John Henry Jones, Arthur Lee Jones, and Warren Jones; children, Bobbie J. Wilks, and Charlene Wilks; and son-in-law, Claude Dixon.

Fannie was a very active member of Second Baptist Church where she served on both the Mother Board and Mission Board.  She loved gardening and flowers. She will fondly be remembered for being a wonderful cook because of her famous peach cobbler and for the dinner rolls that melted in your mouth. She leaves behind her collection of self-written poetry entitled “Unfinished Treasures” for her family to cherish.

Services for Fannie will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 11 at Second Baptist Church with  Rev. Isaac Parker officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from  4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, November 10 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home or one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday at Second Baptist Church from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Second Baptist Church.
