Carlinville man arrested for shooting two teen boys

CARLINVILLE, Ill. — A 43-year-old Carlinville man is accused of shooting two teenage boys in Carlinville over the weekend.

Jason Hart has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.  Police say both teens were found shot Sunday, and one remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Carlinville Police say they received a 911 call just before 2 a.m. Sunday from Hart’s wife who told dispatchers her husband was holding a person at gunpoint at the house next door.

When police arrived they reportedly found Hart standing near two boys, one of which was shot.

Police began searching the area and located another boy with a gunshot wound.

In total, four boys were found, two of which were transported to Carlinville Area Hospital with gunshot related injuries before being transferred to St. Johns and Memorial Hospitals in Springfield.
