CLINTON COUNTY — Two Washington County men are being held in the Clinton County Jail, following their arrests over the weekend on drug and forgery charges.

Clinton County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 26-year-old Darren Eggemann Jr., and 31-year-old Victor Bermudez, on Saturday.

They remained in jail on investigative holds and were formally charged Monday in Clinton County Court with one count each Class 3 felony possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine, and two counts each Class 3 felony forgery, as well as one count each misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail was set for Eggemann and Bermudez at $50,000 each and they’re both scheduled for November 16 status hearings. Eggeman indicated he would hire a private attorney, and Bermudez was appointed a public defender.
