Odey Wright was convicted and sentenced in 2012 of the armed robberies in 2011 of the Caddie Shack and Huck’s Store in Centralia. He was sentenced at that time to 86-years in prison for multiple Class X felony charges of armed robbery with a firearm and Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance.

Wright appealed his sentence, and the Fifth Appellate Court in Mt. Vernon reversed his conviction having found he had not been read his Miranda Rights after his arrest.

The case was remanded back to the Marion County Court in July and Odey was returned to the custody of the Marion County Jail with bail set at $500,000.

The case was scheduled to be retried Thursday, but Wright instead entered a plea agreement to amended charges of Class X felony armed robbery without a firearm. He was sentenced to 20 years concurrent on each charge and given credit for time served.
