MARION COUNTY — Five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night at Route 37 and Walnut Hill Road just south of Kell.

According to Illinois State Police, a pickup truck driven by 24-year-old Quade Coble, of Louisville, was traveling eastbound on Walnut Hill Road when he ran a stop sign and struck the side of a car being driven northbound on Route 37 by 43-year-old Stephen Parker, of Kell.

The impact of the crash caused the Coble truck to spin out of control and leave the roadway before landing in a ditch.

The Parker vehicle also spun into the ditch where it rolled over multiple times and came to rest upright.

Both drivers, an unnamed female passenger in the Coble truck, and two passengers in the Parker vehicle, 41-year-old Sarah Beasley, of Kell, and 83-year-old Gloria Parker, of Dix, were all taken to Salem Township Hospital before being transported to St. Louis University Hospital for treatment.

ISP says charges are pending in the crash that happened just before 6 p.m. Saturday.
