The National Weather Service Office has confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down in rural Richland County Sunday night.

A High Precipitation (HP) supercell thunderstorm produced a tornado in northwest Richland County about 3 miles north of Noble at 5:24 pm CST on Sunday, November 5, 2017.

The tornado was on the ground for nearly seven miles and nine minutes before dissipating about 3 miles north-northwest of Olney.

Other severe thunderstorms during the late afternoon of November 5th produced large hail, damaging winds and very heavy rain in parts of east central and southeast Illinois.

No injuries were reported.
