CENTRAL CITY — A 19-year-old Centralia man is in the Marion County Jail following his arrest by Central City police on drug and weapons charges, while a 24-year-old Centralia woman was arrested on related retail theft charges.

Trentyn D. Louvier-Gibson was arrested after he was identified as driving a car involved with alleged retail theft from the Citgo gas station in Central City.

Police received a report from Citgo around 5:43 a.m. Sunday of a female called “KayKay” who had taken an item from the store and left in a maroon Ford car driven by a male.

After searching for the vehicle at multiple locations officers identified the driver as Gibson and found he was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants and was driving without a valid license.

Officers ultimately found the vehicle parked outside the Dollar General Store on Broadway. An officer then followed the vehicle down an alley and onto East Green Street where following a brief struggle they took Gibson into custody.

A search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a loaded 22 caliber rifle under the driver’s seat that was later reported as stolen, a loaded Ruger pistol with a chambered round, an Xbox 360 that was also later reported as stolen, a pair of reportedly stolen shoes, a glass pipe, used needles and other drug paraphernalia.

A search of Gibson reportedly revealed two pocket knives and a can of chewing tobacco containing several small baggies with prescription pills – only some of which were narcotic — and what appeared to be “Ice” methamphetamine inside.

Gibson was taken to the Marion County Jail on charges of possession of a weapon by a felon, and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a church.

Gibson denied the weapons or drugs were his, but did provide officers with “KayKay’s” phone number. Officers later identified the female as Joeitta Makayla Mansker and took her into custody for alleged retail theft for stealing an ice cream sandwich from the Citgo gas station.

The owner of the rifle was contacted and confirmed that Gibson was supposed to be returning the gun and that he believed Mansker was the person who had taken the weapon.

Mansker was transported to the Centralia Police Department for questioning in a CPD case. She was later taken to the Marion County Jail on charges of felony theft based upon prior convictions, residential burglary and criminal damage to property.

In addition to being arrested on the drug and weapons charges alleged in the Central City arrest, Gibson was also arrested by Centralia police for aggravated battery and criminal trespass in connection with an October 12th armed robbery at a home on West Kell Street where a resident was allegedly hit in the head with a bat he had by the door of his home and had his money stolen.
