KC Board accepts Quinn resignation, appoints Evans as interim president

CENTRALIA — The Kaskaskia College Board accepted the resignation Monday night of Dr. Penny Quinn as President and appointed Dean of Career and Technical Education George Evans as its Interim President.

Evans will replace Quinn until the end of her contract on June 30th of next year. Quinn will remain available as a consultant the remainder of her contract. She thanked the board members for their positive outgoing remarks but made no other statement.

Evans will be paid the equivalent of $145,000 a year in his joint role as Interim President and Dean through June 30th.

Evans stated after the meeting that he would like the Presidency on a permanent basis and retire from KC as either President or in his capacity as a dean.
