FAYETTE COUNTY — An early Wednesday morning crash between two semis on Interstate 70 resulted in both drivers being injured.

According to Illinois State Police, around 12:25 a.m. Wednesday on I-70 just east of Brownstown, a Freightliner being operated by 60-year-old Gary M. Dixon of Detroit, Michigan was traveling east in the right lane of I-70 when he struck the rear of a trailer connected to a Freightliner being operated by 57-year-old Kidane Feriew of McKinney, Texas.

Dixon’s semi came to rest in the right lane, while Feriew’s semi came to rest on the right shoulder. Both drivers were transported to Fayette County Hospital for treatment.
