Edna E. Chapman

CENTRALIA — Edna E. Chapman, 83, of Centralia departed this life and joined the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2017, in the loving care of Washington County Hospital in Nashville.

Edna was in the arms of her daughter with love, support, and prayers from all her children, family, friends, and her Pastor Ray Tackett.

Edna was born August 1, 1934, the daughter of Thomas and Mabel (Yardley) Quick in Boulder, IL. She married Donald Edwards on September 7, 1954, in Mt. Vernon, IL and he preceded her in death in 1980. She later married James Chapman who also preceded her in death.

Edna is survived by her loving children, Mollie Rounsavall of Centralia, Donna Trainor and husband Jack of Centralia, Ronda Schuchmann and husband Robert of Centralia, James Edwards and wife Melinda of Patoka, John Edwards of Centralia; step-children, Debbie of Mt. Vernon, Brenda of Centralia Richard Chapman and wife Linda of Centralia, and Dianne Sanders and husband Dennis of Centralia; cherished grandchildren, Melvin, Eric and Kim Abney, Stacey McIver and husband Carey, Tina and husband Dave, Robert Watson and wife Carla, Alan Abney, Joe Abney, Michael Shores, Kenneth Shores and wife Reese, Jonnie, Andrea, Hannah, Heather, Crystal and husband Conner Defeno, Mindy, Nicole, Brian Edwards, and Amber Edwards; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Edna was preceded in death by both her parents; her two husbands; siblings, Paul, Dean, Elmer, Dorothy, Carl, Earl, Lucille, Tom; grandson, Kevin Watson; son-in-law, Wayne Rounsavall; and brother-in-law, Woody Edwards.

Edna worked many years at Hollywood Brands Candy Factory in Centralia until she retired. Loving her family was one her greatest joys in life. Her most treasured gift in life was being a member of New Harmony Baptist Church where she was voted in as treasurer. Edna became very active with the church, its members and the community. Whatever was needed for her church she felt it was an honor and blessing to give. Edna’s faith, love, and dedication was her greatest gift and one she would generously share.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Pratt Cemetery in Patoka.
