MARION COUNTY — The Marion County State’s Attorney’s Office has released a 22-year-old Centralia man from the county jail pending further investigation into a November 25 residential burglary in Centralia.

D’Shawn Duncan reportedly used a phone stolen from a home in the 600 block of East Kell to log in to Facebook and then allegedly discussed the alleged burglary. The victim of the alleged burglary reportedly saw the online conversation when she logged into her Facebook account.

According to police, the victim of the alleged burglary returned home November 25 to find a front window and back door open and her apartment ransacked. In addition to the cell phone, an Xbox, TV, computer, and headphones were reportedly taken.

Duncan was reportedly located by a Marion County Sheriff’s deputy Monday morning and turned over to Centralia police for questioning. Duncan reportedly denied being involved in the burglary, saying others had also been asked about the burglary during the Facbook conversation.
