CENTRALIA — Centralia police arrested two women Tuesday afternoon in connection with the reported home invasion and robbery late Monday night of a Centralia apartment.

According to Centralia Police Chief Brian Atchison, 18-year-old Corneshia Fletcher, of 104 Fairway in Centralia, was arrested in the 2100 block of East McCord Street Tuesday after officers had developed information indicating a suspect in the home invasion would be at that location.

Police also arrested 19-year-old Briesha Rush, of Mt. Vernon, on an outstanding Marion County traffic warrant, resisting arrest, and obstruction for allegedly attempting to destroy property taken in the home invasion.

Police reports indicate that just before midnight Monday a resident of Lamplight apartments heard a knock at her door but before she could answer it the door flew open and three women rushed into her apartment.

As the resident struggled with at least one of the three suspects the others ransacked the apartment and ultimately fled the scene with items from the residence.

Fletcher was formally charged Wednesday in Marion County Court with Class X home invasion and Class 2 felony robbery in connection with Monday night’s incident.

Atchison says the investigation is ongoing and officers continue to seek additional suspects in the home invasion.
